Cooperation with Rzeszów University of Technology – from concept to implementation
For many years, our company has been cooperating with the Accredited Electromagnetic Compatibility Laboratory (EMC) and the Radio Frequency Identification Laboratory (RFID), both operating within the Department of Electronic and Telecommunication Systems at the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the Rzeszów University of Technology. Of great importance to us in this cooperation are the laboratory’s professional and unique technical facilities, the team’s openness to our needs, the way research is conducted – with the direct involvement of our employees – as well as the laboratory’s proximity. Cooperation between our company and the Rzeszów University of Technology was formalized on July 20, 2023, when framework agreement no. NR-622-331-1053/23 was signed. This document defines, among other things, the principles for conducting joint scientific research and R&D work, the organization of training sessions, internships, and apprenticeships, as well as the education of engineering staff. The coordinator of activities on behalf of the University is Dr. Eng. Piotr Jankowski-Mihułowicz, Professor at Rzeszów University of Technology.
The EMC Directive 2014/30/EU regulates the conditions for placing electrical and electronic equipment on the EU market with regard to electromagnetic compatibility. Every device must be designed so that it does not emit electromagnetic disturbances exceeding the permissible levels and is resistant to typical disturbances occurring in its target operating environment. The technical requirements resulting from the directive are specified in harmonized standards, which define permissible emission levels and minimum device immunity. Compliance with these principles is not only a prerequisite for CE marking, but also the foundation for ensuring the quality, reliability, and safety of modern technical systems. The EMC Directive promotes the use of good design practices and a systemic approach to EMC issues – both at the design and production stages.

Between 2022–2025, our cooperation with the EMC Laboratory focused on testing various versions of electric vehicle chargers. Under research and development agreements, studies were conducted on adapting the design of a mobile charger for the Mercedes group, as well as a high-power stationary AC charger, to the requirements defined in the standard EN 61851-21-2. The unique facilities of the EMC Laboratory of the Rzeszów University of Technology – including professional high-power three-phase systems for testing the immunity of electrical devices to standardized types of disturbances – enabled us to carry out tests in repeatable conditions and in accordance with procedures defined by the standard. This made it possible to carry out iterative modifications to the charger designs to meet the stringent requirements of the standard, which was a key stage in the certification process and preparation of the devices for introduction to the European market.

During the same period, we also jointly conducted R&D work in the field of radio frequency object identification. This mainly concerned the synthesis of NFC antenna systems dedicated to inductive chargers for premium-segment cars and selected application cases occurring in communication between mobile devices (smartphones and smartwatches) from different manufacturers.
As a result of the conducted work, our products were successfully adapted to the requirements of Directive 2014/30/EU (EMC), which guarantees their safe and compliant operation in the target environment. The implemented solutions directly contributed to improving the quality and reliability of our products and increased their export potential. This partnership is an excellent example of the synergy between science and industry, bringing benefits not only to our company but also to the entire Podkarpacie region – strengthening its position as a center of technological innovation.
